Gionee unveils S5.1 Pro smartphone with AMOLED display

Chinese company Gionee has launched a new Android smartphone, S5.1 Pro. 
The dual-sim smartphone has a thin body that measures 5.35mm and the phone along with its battery weighs around 129g. 
It features a 5-inch 2.5D HD (720×1280) Amoled display and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned with Amigo 3.0. Powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor and 2GB RAM, the phone has 16GB of internal memory and can support microSD cards of up to 128GB. 
Gionee s5.1 Pro packs 2,400mAh battery and sports 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 5MP secondary camera with an 81 degree viewing angle. 
The phone supports 4G LTE , 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS as connectivity options. 
As of now, the phone has been officially unveiled in China, and it will reportedly be available there in coming weeks for around around $300. It is expected to be made available in other Asian countries too.

Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard, M337 Mouse Launched in India

After launching its K480 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard in India in July this year, Logitech on Friday launched the K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard and the Logitech M337 Bluetooth Mouse at Rs. 2,795 and Rs. 2,345 respectively. The keyboard and mouse will hit the shelves in October and September respectively, and was launched at the IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin.
The Logitech K380 Multi-Device Keyboard by Logitech can pair with a computer, smartphone, or a tablet via Bluetooth 3.0. Users can also switch from one device to another using the Easy-Switch button, says the firm. Once switched, the keyboard recognises the connected device and automatically maps keys to supported functions and shortcuts. It is rated to offer a battery life of up to two years using the included AAA batteries. The Bluetooth keybaord will be available in Blue and Black colour variants.
Measuring 279x124x16mm, the K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard weighs 423 grams and is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, OS X 10.10, and later versions of both platforms. It also works with Chrome OS, Android 3.2 and later, iOS 5 and later, and Apple TV. The keyboard additionally features a power switch along with bBattery and Bluetooth LED indicators, and has a maximum range of 10 metres.
The Logitech M337 Bluetooth Mouse features a programmable navigation button that supports host of functions, including replicating the three-finger swipe gesture to see Mission Control on OS X devices, and bring up Task View on Windows 10. Besides sporting a textured rubber for better grip, the device comes with a battery life of 10 months on a single AA battery. It would be available in Black, Grey, Blue, and Red colour variants. The company also recommends users to download the Logitech Options Software to “customise both the keyboard and mouse to enhance your experience and unlock a world of possibilities.”
The compact Bluetooth mouse by Logitech measures 100.5×61.1x33mm and weighs 82 grams. The device is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and later, OS X 10.8 and later, Chrome OS, as well as Android 3.2 and later versions. It also sports a battery LED indicator and comes with a maximum range of 10 metres.

HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM With 5.5-Inch Display, Android 5.1 Lollipop Launched

HTC has silently launched new smartphone in its Desire-series in China, named HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM. The smartphone is up for pre-orders and is expected to start shipping by mid-September. The firm has not yet revealed the price of the dual-SIM handset.
The HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense and features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display like the Desire 820G+ Dual SIM, which was launched in July. It packs the same 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, but a 5-megapixel secondary front-facing camera instead of an 8-megapixel one. Also, the handset is powered by a slightly less powerful octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC (clocked at 1.3GHz) and 2GB of RAM.
The 16GB inbuilt storage on the Desire 728 Dual SIM is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). Connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, Micro-USB and 4G LTE TDD connectivity with support for Indian networks. According to the official listing of the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM, the handset is backed by a 2800mAh battery that can offer up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 485 hours of standby time in 3G. It measures 157.9×77.84×7.87mm and weighs around 153 grams.
Much like other recently launched HTC smartphones, the Desire 728 Dual SIM features HTC BoomSound technology, which is complemented by Dolby Audio as well.
HTC has been lately trying to shift its focus more towards mid-range smartphone market by launching several handsets under its Desire series. The firm besides the Desire 820G+ Dual SIM, also launched the Desire 520, Desire 526, Desire 626 (US version), and Desire 626s in the US in July.

Micromax’s Yu5050, Yu4711 Smartphones Leaked Ahead of Tuesday Launch

Micromax’s Yu Televentures is holding a press conference on for a new smartphone launch on Tuesday, and two new Yu smartphones have been leaked ahead of it. Dubbed the Yu5050 and Yu4711, both the smartphones have been spotted in Geekbench listings tipping a few details on specifications. The Yu5050 has also been leaked via an Indian import/ export manifest site.
The leaked Geekbench listing claims that Yu Yu5050 be a high-end device will, unlike previous Yu smartphones. It is said to feature a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The listing also hints that the handset will feature a 5.2-inch full-HD display and will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based build of CyanogenOS. The Yu 5050 is seen scoring 1353 in single-core test and 4622 in the multi-core test.
The Indian import/ export site, Zauba, lists the Yu5050 featuring dual-SIM support; a 5.2-inch display, and microSD card support. The Micromax Yu5050 smartphones were shipped from China, and had a declared value of Rs. 20,295 to Rs. 20,752. To be noted is that import/ export website price listings are only declared values, and usually are not accurate reflections of actual market price.
The Micromax Yu4711, on the other hand, is seen featuring a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. Much like Yu5050, the Yu4711 is also likely to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based CyanogenOS. The Geekbench listing for the Yu4711 shows a single-core score of 263 and multi-core score of 743. Both the Geekbench listing of the unannounced Yu handsets were first reported by Tech Gadgetsz.
Micromax’s Yu brand started sending invites last week for the launch of its next smartphone (or smartphones) on Tuesday. The media invite included a tagline that read, “When future meets past. The next wonder will be unveiled” and was accompanied by an image of a handset. The company even started teasing the upcoming devices via social platforms.
We will have to wait till Yu’s event on Tuesday event to see what the company has in store next for consumers.
